PEDASI TOURISM PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN
“COME TO PEDASI”
The Pedasi Chamber of Tourism campaign “COME TO PEDASI” began with a media tour during the weekend of the 3rd, 4th and 5th of July.

On Friday the 3rd of July, Andromeda Beach Club hosted the opening ceremony of the “COME TO PEDASI ” programme. Its members were welcomed by Paola Jaén, President of La Cámara de Turismo (The Chamber of Tourism) Daniel from Cañas Island Tours, whose inspiration created the tour and Miguel Batista, the Mayor of Pedasi who presented the programme’s weekend activities. Within the beautiful setting of Andromeda Beach Club members were presented, to a folkloric dance by the Remembranzas dance group and Morgan Leigh Mcgowen the National Pollera Queen of 2015. There after the members were offered dinner and live music courtesy of Smileys Restaurant. Early Saturday morning the members departed for Isla Iguana where the media took several film shots and interviews. Snacks and drinks were provided courtesy of Aura Jaén, Delicias Pedasi. Surf, paddle boards and snorkel equipment were provided courtesy of Pedasi Tours. After the tour of the Island, the members had lunch at the Maestra Vida Restaurant. Following lunch the members set off to Playa Venao with the oppertunity to interview the areas most famous surfers, Pucha Garcia and Gary Saavedra.
Following Venao the members headed for Cañas where they were taken by boat to Isla Cañas Hostal Pachamama. Once here, the members enjoyed the many activities offered by the resort’s ecotourism. Guided by Daniel from Isla Cañas Tours and Patrick from Pachamama, everyone was shown the nursery of existing sea turtle nests. After this they continued to the town of the island where they enjoyed an excellent dinner hosted by Mrs Aida. Following dinner there was a trip to the beach of Isla Canas, one of the largest sea turtle nesting areas throughout the Americas and where the locals are to be admired for all their worthy conservation efforts.
On Sunday after a breakfast which was hosted by Mrs Mirna from Dim’s Hostal, members toured the village of Pedasi. They visited the Museum of the Moscoso family where they were received by the former President of Panama, Mireya Moscoso. They also visited the local handicraft shops Babahouse and Artemanía and finished at the Hacienda Doña Carmen where they were met by the former major league player Olmedo Saenz.
La Cámara de Turismo (The Chamber of Tourism) would like to give sincere thanks to Residencial Pedasi, Dim’s Hostal, Hacienda Doña Carmen, Residencial Dona Maria and Santa Catalina for hosting the media, José Enrique from Panama Quick Transport, tourist agencies and related support for the transportation of all its members, and the Association of Fishermen and APROPSERTUR for transportation by boat to Iguana Island.
