PEDASI’S TRADITIONAL FESTIVAL OF CULTURE
THE TRADITIONAL CART PARADE AND THE RUNNING OF THE BULLS.

On Friday the 30th and Saturday 31st of October, Pedasi celebrates the XIII Festival of culture with the Cart parade and the running of the bulls.
This is one of the most anticipated events for all Pedasieños and our local neighbours who fill the streets of our beautiful town to watch the parade of carts. The carts represent everyone from the area. There will be a jury and prizes awarded to the top three carts, followers and cars.
The cart parade will be on Saturday the 31st and will begin at 1 PM. It will leave from the Texaco gas station, and then tour the main road and around the streets to finish in the central park.
Following on from this will be the running of the bulls. Pedasi is the only place in all of Panama and America where this activity is still practiced. It involves letting loose three bulls in Pedasi park , who run through the streets until the bravest of men catch and tie it.
It is a funny to watch, where you see people scream, run and take refuge in doorways protecting their houses from the bulls. By the late afternoon there will be traditional singing between Rivera and Erasmito Bultron Miguelito, and dancing with Osvaldo Ayala.
The celebrations for the event will start on the 30th with the crowning of Miss Pedasi, SM Maria Fernanda Barrios Batista in the ‘cancha’ of Pedasi starting at 7 pm, where there will be typical dancing music disco with the Pacifico Domingo band.
