THE OPENING OF JAVILLO PHARMACY,
THE NEW BRANCH IN LAS TABLES AND THEIR HEALTHY WEEK PROMOTION.
In November 2014 FARMACIA EL JAVILLO (The Javillo pharmacy) opened a new branch in Las Tablas on the corner where for years stood Farmacia Praga and on the 15th of July FARMACIA EL JAVILLO held their official opening for their Las Tablas branch.
To celebrate their opening, FARMACIA EL JAVILLO included a ‘Healthy Week’ promotion from the 13th to the 18th of July. Various activities included blood pressure tests, dental advice, glucose tests and the choice to test products where advice was freely available.
Additionally FARMACIA EL JAVILLO hosted talks with the recognized Lic. Ana Vasquez, a sports nutritionist. She raised important issues such as how to combine foods at mealtimes, how to recognize and read product labels and what were the five most important Cancer preventative foods.
Included in their ‘Healthy Week’ promotion Zumba classes were taught by Doris Lombardo. Both the talks and Zumba classes were held in the Cooperative S / I Gladys B. Ducasa.
FARMACIA EL JAVILLO opened its first pharmacy in 1921 which was located in the Aveniuda B Sal Si Puedes. FARMACIA EL JAVILLO is one of the first pharmacies in the country with a record of more than 90 years bringing health to Panamanian households. Currently it has 16 branches nationwide, among them the recently opened branch in Las Tablas and a branch in Chitre, which opened its doors to the public in July 2012 and is located in the Variedades building on the corner between Ave. Herrera and Calle Manuel María Correa.
